Founded by our father inside the historic Bacon’s Department Store in downtown Louisville, our business began with a simple offering: watch straps and small repairs. Over the decades, that single counter grew into a full-service jewelry store and a legacy built on integrity, craftsmanship, and care.
A Family Tradition
We are proud to be a family-owned and operated business now entering its third generation. Ownership is shared by siblings Vicki and Jim, with other family members lending their hands and hearts, whether it's managing the store on weekends or doing bead stringing and custom work behind the scenes.
Every piece that passes through our store reflects the values we were raised on: honesty, quality, and personal connection. Our customers aren't just transactions, they’re friends and families we’ve served for decades, in many cases across two or three generations.

Rooted in Community
Benton Fine Jewelry has deep roots in the region. We first opened our doors in Louisville in 1952, operating inside the historic Bacon’s Department Store. In 1958, we expanded across the river to Jeffersonville, and while our Louisville location closed in 1992, our Jeffersonville store continues to thrive today.
Located just two blocks off the bridge in the heart of downtown, we remain proud to be part of this growing, vibrant community. Many of our Louisville customers still make the short trip to visit us, often following in the footsteps of parents and grandparents who shopped with us for decades.
Our long-standing presence means you’ll often hear, “My grandmother shopped here,” or “My parents always brought their rings here.” That’s the highest compliment we could ever receive.
